The Triangle is known for its tech attraction. From downtown Raleigh to RTP (Research Triangle Park), many of the top companies in tech have opened offices and are considering the area one of their major locations. When we first move to the area there were talks about Amazon opening up their second headquarter here. While it did not happen in the end, companies are still moving in. Just recently both Apple and Google announces that they are about to open new offices here.

The three main areas to look at are RTP (Research Triangle Park), a huge area which is where you will find most of the companies spread out in big buildings, surrounded by trees and lakes; the next one is downtown Ralegh, with its history, museums and a bunch of places to eat; and also Downtown Durham, the area for culture (DPAC), sports (the Bulls Studium) and tons of restaurants.

The Triangle has become a major hub for tech innovation, drawing in companies from across the country. From downtown Raleigh to Research Triangle Park (RTP) and Durham, some of the world’s biggest tech names have established offices here, making the area one of the fastest-growing technology ecosystems in the U.S.
When we first moved to the Triangle, there was buzz about Amazon opening a second headquarters here. While that didn’t happen, the region has continued to attract major players, with Apple and Google both announcing new office locations in the area.
Where Are the Major Tech Hubs in the Triangle?
If you’re considering relocating for a tech job, here are the three key areas to know:
✔ Research Triangle Park (RTP): The heart of the region’s tech scene, RTP is home to hundreds of companies, with large office buildings surrounded by green spaces, lakes, and walking trails.
✔ Downtown Raleigh: Beyond its tech firms, Raleigh is known for historic landmarks, museums, and a dynamic food scene, making it an attractive place to live and work.
✔ Downtown Durham: Known for its arts, culture, and sports, Durham is home to DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center), the Durham Bulls stadium, and a growing number of tech offices.
Many tech professionals looking to move to the Triangle ask us which companies are already here—so we took on the challenge of building an up-to-date list. While this is an ongoing effort, we’ve focused on tech companies specifically (excluding biotech and healthcare, which deserve their own list!).
